Green light for St Peter’s square project
Manchester City Council has granted planning permission for the redevelopment of the city's Elisabeth House.
Plans submitted by Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund and its joint venture development partner, Argent, include a complete redevelopment of the 270,000 sq ft Elisabeth House site and renaming it as One St Peter's Square.
The mixed-use scheme will include leisure and exhibition space and a large office complex.
The property team behind the plans include Glenn Howells Architects; building services consultant Hoare Lea; structural engineers Tier and planning consultant GVA Grimley. GVA Grimley and Savills are joint agents for the scheme.
James Nicholson, development director at Argent, said: "Now that One St Peter's Square has the seal of approval, we can continue to work alongside the City Council and other landowners to transform the current site into an unparalleled piece of public realm in this significant and historic part of the City.
