England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland have informed football’s European governing body Uefa that they want to stage matches in the European Championship in 2020.

The championships are to undertake a new platform in which countries bid to host games in their cities, as opposed to one country hosting all of the tournament’s matches as has happened in previous years.

It is believed England wants to host its games in London, while Scotland has chosen Glasgow to host its matches if selected. Wales has proposed for matches to be hosted in Cardiff and the Republic of Ireland has picked Dublin as its potential venue for 2020.

Uefa has said that 32 of its members have shown an interest in hosting games for the championships.
