Goodlife Health Clubs has confirmed its intention to acquire Fitness First Essendon and five Fitness First gyms in South Australia (SA) – Adelaide City, Marion, Holden Hill, Payneham and Hindmarsh.
In June, it was announced that Fitness First was offloading nearly a quarter (24) of its 97-strong Australian portfolio as part of the group's restructuring process. 333 Capital was appointed to help secure new owners.
Fitness First Essendon and Fitness First SA are expected to come under Goodlife's ownership by the end of October, with all clubs continuing to operate as normal as the deal is finalised.
In a letter of introduction to Fitness First members, Goodlife CEO Greg Oliver said memberships will transfer to Goodlife schemes and remain on the same payment structures.
Oliver said: "Our aim is to continue to provide outstanding service to all members and transition to Goodlife Health Clubs with little disruption to current programmes and operations."
Goodlife Health Clubs is owned by Ardent Leisure, the Australia-based owner and operator of leisure facilities including Dreamworld, WhiteWater World theme parks and attractions.
