Gloucester Rugby Football Club has announced that it is to delay plans to build a new 7,500-seat grandstand at its Kingsholm ground due to concerns about the temporary seating.

Some supporters have registered dissatisfaction with plans for constructing the temporary stand which would reduce capacity and deprive them of their traditional places on the terraces.

The work will now commence in March 2007, said Gloucester chair, Tom Walkinshaw. “We are still determined that the development will go ahead. If people want a top flight rugby club, there has to be change, which means bigger and better facilities,” he said.
