George Millay wins THEA award for lifetime achievement
Industry guru, George Millay is to receive the 2003 THEA Lifetime Achievement Award from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
TEA president, George Wiktor said Millay's 'vision, persistence and passion for people having fun have led to a worldwide eruption of waterparks and attractions.
Millay is currently working on a new mixed-use leisure concept with Bob Masterson at Ripley Entertainment for San Diego, USA - see Issue 2.03 of Attractions Management magazine for full details on the SeaVenture scheme.
'For more than 40 years, his successes have included such greats as SeaWorld and Wet'nWild and his influence has resulted in innovative and exciting waterparks around the globe,' said Wiktor. 'Hot summer days have been changed irrevocably for millions of people thanks to George Millay's designs and efforts.'
