Gatecrasher unveils £15m expansion plan
UK nightclub brand, Gatecrasher has revealed a five-year, £15m expansion plan and details of its future blueprint within the UK leisure and entertainment industry.
The club brand, which already owns the Republic and Bed nightclubs in Sheffield, has released a boutique blueprint that it hopes will encourage a "new era in nightclub culture".
Beginning with a £1.5m refit and redesign of the 20,193sq ft Republic club in Sheffield, overseen by architect Matt Rawlinson from Raw Design, the venue will be renamed Gatecrasher One from 2 September 2003.
Gatecrasher One will form the foundation of a projected 10-unit rollout programme around selected UK cities, involving an estimated £15m investment over the next five years. Interest has already been expressed in Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, Liverpool, Cardiff, Newcastle and Dublin.
Gatecrasher have also revealed plans to expand their Summer Sound System festival events, which have been co-promoted for the last three years with music promoters SJM Concerts.
MD of Gatecrasher, Simon Raine, said: "Gatecrasher One will be the first in a series of ten unique, signature-led nightclubs that will become synonymous with high quality, each with individual and cutting-edge design. We believe dance is returning to being part of a night out and Gatecrasher nightclubs have both domestic UK and international market appeal and extensive brand exposure."
