Following its official launch last month, the Garthdee Sports and Alpine Adventure Park will open its new all-weather artificial sports pitch on 28 November.
Funded by the Robert Gordon University, the pitch has a covering surface of Fieldturf S1, a new surface that has both FIFA and UEFA accreditation.
The £2.3m site also features a Snowflex alpine adventure area, complete with air jumps and a bump run alongside a purpose-built ski lodge and separate facilities for snowsports and football.
The park was part-funded by an award of £397,883 from sportscotland’s Sports Facilities Programme with a further £1.9m pledge from Aberdeen City Council.
Councillor Scott Cassie said: “This new all-weather sports pitch is an excellent facility and it reinforces Aberdeen City Council’s commitment to improving pitches across the city.” Details: www.aberdeencity.gov.uk
