GHM to enter Mumbai with new property in 2013
General Hotel Management Group (GHM) is set to operate a new property - The Aayu Mumbai - in India at the end of 2013.
The hotel will be housed within the top five floors of Kohinoor Square's Central Tower, which is the tallest commercial building in Mumbai - designed by Mumbai architects Sandeep Shikre & Associates and US-based GKK Works.
Aayu Mumbai will feature 42 suites ranging in size from 65 to 155 sq m (700-1,668 sq ft).
The hotel's spa will offer guests a range of treatments that will be carried out in the guestrooms.
Joël Robuchon, who has been awarded 28 Michelin stars, will open his 8th L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at The Aayu Mumbai.
Serving contemporary French cuisine, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon will also feature a tea lounge, pastry shop and collection of fine wines handpicked by Robuchon.
The Aayu's rooftop terrace will be home to Mumbai's highest bar as well as a swimming pool and landscaped courtyard.
Other facilities include a swimming pool, a library lounge and bar, cigar and cognac lounge, a malt bar and a boardroom.
GHM President Hans R. Jenni: "With the involvement of Joël Robuchon and Hide Yamamoto, GHM is redefining the culinary landscape and luxury offering of Mumbai in the same way the Kohinoor Square tower is transforming the city skyline.
"The Aayu will emerge as a new style icon in Mumbai."
GHM's portfolio includes The Legian Bali, Indonesia, The Nam Hai Hoi An, Vietnam, The Strand Yangon, Myanmar, The Chedi Muscat, Oman and The Chedi Chiang Mai, Thailand.
