Future of Bromsgrove stadium decided
Bromsgrove District Council (BDC) has confirmed that Bromsgrove Sporting Ltd - a not-for-profit organisation - has been offered the lease on the town's Victoria Ground.
The decision follows an extensive review of two proposals for the future use of the ground, which is currently used by Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club (BRFC) as its home ground. BDC's cabinet has now approved Bromsgrove Sporting's bid, which said it would enable BRFC to continue using the Victoria Ground for home fixtures, while also enhancing local sporting opportunities.
Council leader Roger Hollingworth said: "When reviewing the proposals, it became apparent that one of the proposals would support the council's visions, values and objectives to enhance sporting opportunities in the local area and improve the quality of life for residents. "I am delighted as part of the Bromsgrove Sporting Ltd bid that the much loved Rovers club will have the opportunity to continue to play at the Victoria Ground and look forward to a successful 2010-11 season."
