Fusion Lifestyle to operate Enfield facilities
Four leisure centres in Enfield, north London, are set to benefit from nearly £9m worth of improvements over the next three years after Fusion Lifestyle was appointed to run local council-owned facilities.
A total of seven sites will be operated on behalf of Enfield Council, with the four venues to be improved including Albany Leisure Centre, Southbury Leisure Centre, Southgate Leisure Centre and Edmonton Leisure Centre. The operator will also take over responsibility for Arnos Pool, Aspire Sports and Fitness Centre and Bramley Bowls Centre after securing an agreement with the local authority. The deal extends the trust's London and South East portfolio to 45 sites.
Enfield Council cabinet member for young people, leisure, culture and the Olympics, Bambos Charalambous, said: "Fusion demonstrated its ability to provide an excellent service that improves facilities but reduces costs. "We were impressed by Fusion's bid which delivers real value for money for Enfield's residents, ensuring the appropriate balance between cost and quality."
Fusion chief executive officer Peter Kay added: "Improving leisure and cultural opportunities is a key priority for Enfield Council and the team at Fusion is looking forward to delivering exciting developments over the next few years."
