'Further dialogue' over domestic cricket revamp
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will hold "further dialogue" with the 18 first-class counties after receiving David Morgan's report on how to improve the domestic game.
Four recommendations have been put forward by the Morgan Review, including a cut in the number of County Championship fixtures and a return to a 50-over competition.
The report also deals with the scheduling of domestic matches and calls for the consideration of an enhanced department responsible for the professional game within the ECB.
The ECB board has now identified areas in which further discussion is required and is set to meet with the first-class counties on 23 January as part of that process.
ECB chief executive David Collier said: "We shall now meet with stakeholders within the game to discuss the detail and rationale behind these recommendations."
