Foxhills acquires golf club
Surrey-based resort operator Foxhills has acquired the Farleigh Court Golf Club in Croydon from Oxford Hotels and Inns.
It will be the family-owned company's second site. It currently owns and operates the Foxhills resort and spa in Ottershaw.
The 350-acre Farleigh estate was opened in 1997 by Fuji Country Club on the North Surrey Downs.
It features an 18-hole championship golf course and a par 36 nine-hole course, designed by John Jacobs Associates, the brains behind Wentworth's Edinburgh course.
Foxhills announced that it will invest £2m in improving the Farleigh estate - including a £500,000 redevelopment of the course.
Next year, the 16,000sq ft clubhouse will undergo a £700,000 transformation at the hands of DesignLSM, the design company that recently completed the refurbishment of The Runnymede Hotel.
Facilities at the existing Foxhills resort include an Elemis day spa.
The £5m Foxhills Health Spa opened in 2008 and was designed by UK-based architects Robothams and developed by consultant Michelle Hammond.
Covering 15,586sq ft (1,448sq m), treatments use Elemis products as well as ghd Spa, Mama Mio and NEOM by Natural Magic.
