Four Seasons spa rollout continues
The latest spa in the Four Seasons wellness portfolio has opened at the Four Seasons hotel in the city of Shanghai in China.
The US$2.6m (1.76m euro, £1.58m) QIN facility was designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates.
Treatments use a bespoke product range with fruits, herbs and no artificial colourings which was developed for Four Seasons in Indonesia.
The spa menu focuses on bringing ancient Chinese practices into the modern environment. There are four signature rituals, based around themes of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The two-and-a-half hour Green Dragon Spring Rites begins with a tea blossoms foot wash and massage, followed by a body scrub, peach blossom body refresher and Imperial Dragon body massage using lotus blossoms. There is also a 105-minute Black Tortoise Winter Rites which offers either plum blossoms and artemisia body reviver or a neroli and winter mint body polish.
Next to open within the Four Seasons spa brand will be at the FS Hotel Marrakesh, launching in mid-2010 with 10 treatment rooms and FS Beirut, also in 2010, with seven treatment rooms. Details: fourseasons.com
