Former Leicester City chief exec forms consultancy
Leicester City's former chief executive and former sales and marketing director have set up a consultancy to help the sport, leisure and entertainment industry increase revenues and profits.
Barrie Pierpoint and Richard Hughes have formed Ravenstone Management and Marketing Services to offer advice on everything from stadium development to catering operations.
While at Leicester, Pierpoint was responsible for increasing turnover from £2m to £23m in eight years. He also led the club to a listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1997 and helped establish the club as an example of best practice in the sector.
Hughes dealt with the sales, marketing, sponsorship and branding for Leicester City. He has since been part of the team which designed, marketed and sold Derby County's new Pride Park stadium.
Pierpoint says: 'Ravenstone is different from many other consultancies in that it is able to draw on hands on experience to the same challenges. Because we speak the same language and have experienced the same challenges, we know that we can help the industry achieve results.'
