Flame award winners announced
The winners of the annual FLAME (Fitness Leadership and Management Excellence) awards were announced at a ceremony held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham last night (24 September).
Organised by the Fitness Industry Association (FIA), the awards recognised winners in seven different categories.
The centre of the year award was given to Hillsborough Leisure Centre in Sheffield, while the award for clubs with more than 4,000 members went to Benton Hall Golf & Country Club in Witham, which is operated by The Club Company.
Esporta Thorpe Wood Health & Racquets Club won the club of the year award for sites with between 2,500 and 4,000 members, while LA Fitness Fareham took home the award for the 1,000-2,000 members category
Spirit Health Club in Bristol was given the award for clubs with less than 1,000 members, while the Royal Bank Of Scotland Health & Leisure Centre in Edinburgh was chosen as the corporate club of the year for the second time running.
The Spirit of FLAME award was given to LA Fitness New Barnet
