Integrated wellness lifestyle company Fivelements has revealed details of its newest urban wellness concept, Fivelements Habitats.

The first Fivelements Habitat will open in Times Square, Hong Kong this July 2019, followed by two more locations in Hong Kong’s central business districts over the coming 18 months, and expanding to other cities in Asia thereafter.

Since opening its doors in Bali in 2010, Fivelements has established itself as an innovative leader in residential wellness retreats, epicurean plant-based cuisine, transformative sacred arts programmes, and wellness hospitality.

Drawing from its expertise in holistic wellness and innovative plant-based gastronomy, Fivelements says it intends to bring the Hong Kong wellness community together and create alternatives for the growing health enthusiasts in the area.

Expanding from its wellness retreat in Bali, the company will launch Fivelements Habitats, city sanctuaries for yoga, sacred arts and plant-powered cuisine, catering to urban residents and corporates who live highly demanding lifestyles and are seeking greater balance, stress reduction and authentic, personalised wellness experiences.

The intent is to create a home or ‘habitat’ for the growing ‘urban wellness tribe’ and cultivate it as the second most important place for urban dwellers, creating a bridge between their first, being their residence, and their third, being their workplace.

Inspired by biophilic principles and Balinese healing philosophy, Lahra Tatriele, co-founder and chief innovation officer of Fivelements, spearheads the company’s design team, evolving from their flagship Fivelements Retreat Bali to co-create the first Fivelements Habitat in Hong Kong.

Featuring many of the brand’s distinctive ‘five elements’ resort building materials, her goal was to build a new expression of Fivelements in the urban wellness habitat while keeping aligned with the company’s brand design standards.

Ketut Arthana, lead designer from Bali; Mauro Raffellini, Italian light and sound designer; and Gove DePuy, American sustainability advisor, worked together with co-founders Lahra and Chicco Tatriele to evolve the brand design in their first Fivelements Habitat.

“Guided by our core healing philosophy, Tri Hita Karana, we design spaces for healing and transformation in harmony among spirit, human and the environment,” said Lahra Tatriele. “Working with our Fivelements design team for over 10 years, we help each other to stay focused toward achieving this shared mission. We begin with a deep understanding that our thoughtfully designed, eco-conscious spaces will amplify the intentions for transformative healing and wellness experiences.”

Also working together in the classic Fivelements multi-disciplinary approach of experts in the fields of wellness and culinary development are long-time members and senior wellness curators Stefanie Jencquel, Fivelements’ beauty wellness curator, adapting the Retreat signature menu to suit the unique dynamics of the new Habitat model; Michael Hallock, sacred arts and wellness curator, mentoring the Hong Kong wellness curator team; and chef Arnaud Hauchon, culinary curator, crafting the menus for the new Sakti Elixir Bar, a plant-based cuisine concept for the Fivelements Habitats.

Joining the Hong Kong team of experts are May Nogoy, wellness curator & liaison, who is responsible for talent recruitment and sacred arts programming, and Resham Daswani, tea curator & liaison, who is responsible for the development of the organic tea menu and artisanal teaware, as well as mindful tea programming.

Fivelements Habitats will feature a collection of holistic practices aimed at fostering self-exploration, mental and physical health and wellbeing. The integrative wellness programmes will be designed for the growing corporate wellness clientele and discerning residents in Hong Kong, and the company envisions offering a diverse array of formats, ranging from classes to private sessions, corporate groups, workshops, events and day retreats.

Furthermore, the company’s signature holistic retreat programmes, coaching for rejuvenation, detoxes and weight management will also be available, coupled with bespoke therapies specially curated from their retreat in Bali, with the diverse array of sacred arts practices, including bodywork, intuitive healing, energy work, wellness therapies and holistic beauty treatments.

Fivelements’ plant-based cuisine will also be an integral wellness component at Fivelements Habitats, offering new F&B models from juice, elixir and tea lounges to restaurants (depending upon location), enhancing the overall Fivelements Habitat experience and accompanying the integrated wellness programmes.

These will include handcrafted plant-based cuisine, local organic and gluten-free whole food selections; nutrient-rich juices, smoothies and elixirs; organic harvested teas and tisanes; group dining for private and corporate groups, workshops and theory trainings. The open seating area will also be flexible to accommodate larger workshops, events and teacher trainings, covering holistic yoga, wellness, health, nutrition and culinary, and mindful tea training.

“We are very excited about the rollout of our new Fivelements Habitat urban wellness concept and to be bringing high impact wellness support to the people of Hong Kong,” said Chicco Tatriele, co-founder and managing director of Fivelements, who is guiding the project’s development and operational teams.
