The Marlow Club re-opens following redevelopment
Independently-owned health club The Marlow Club has reopened its doors following a £400,000 redevelopment of its health club.
As part of the project, the owner – The Really Fine Leisure Company (RFL) – has refurbished the building’s exterior, renewed the interior décor and remodelled the layout.
The club now includes a dedicated cardio, HIIT, strength and group exercise area as well as a new indoor cycling studio.
The range of equipment available has also been upgraded and the gym now boasts a range of kit supplied by Core Health and Fitness. These include Studio 7 indoor cycling bikes, StairMaster’s New Airfit Upper Body Ergometer and Spartan Gauntlet and Nautilus’s Inspiration and HumanSport strength lines.
A new 8-series cardio suite has also been added, full with a variety of new connectivity options in the form of the OpenHub Consoles, which provide entertainment, fitness tracking and asset management solutions.
Jon Williams, chief operating officer of RFL said: “In total we have 60 new pieces of cv and resistance equipment and 30 of the latest Studio 7 indoor cycling bikes.
“This was a huge decision for us as we needed to close our gym for three days because of the quantity of equipment being moved around. The decision to make the change was worth it more than I could imagine possible.”
Formerly called Oasis, the club was acquired by RFL – a company set up to purchase and manage the site – in 2003, before rebranded The Marlow Club as part of a £1.5m redevelopment in 2005.
