First of four new look McFit gyms relaunches in Munich, as part of a multi-million brand refresh
The multi-million revamp of McFit continues, with the completion of its first new-look studio in Munich Laim, which will soon be followed by three more in the city.
“The modernisation offensive in Munich is an important step for the McFit brand and a strong signal for the future,” says Stephan Pallmann, director brand and customer management RSG Group. “We are certain that the fresh look and new ideas will offer great added value for our members.”
The bright and friendly new style uses “back to basic” materials, such as steel, concrete and wood. A separate women's area has been added, including equipment such as a booty booster, standing abduction, glute booster rack and functional equipment. Around 25 classes will be offered each week in the newly designed studio and a fun added feature is the table tennis table.
The endurance area is equipped with 20 treadmills and seven Climb Mills as well as a functional area, a strength area with half racks and 70 pairs of dumbbells and resistance machines.
“I have personally been closely involved in the long-term development of the McFit brand and am now all the more pleased that the new concept in Munich is one of the first locations to be implemented across the board in the studios,” says Walter Schromm, McFit district manager.
The next opening, in Munich Forstenried, is already scheduled for the end of November.
RSG Group’s core brand, McFIT is now more than 25-years-old. With 230 studios in Germany, Austria and Italy, it is one of Europe's largest fitness communities.
In December 2023, the affordable operator entered into an exclusive partnership with Aldi Sports to sell pre-paid membership cards at Aldi South shops and via the Aldi Sports app, which enables customers to train at all German McFit studios. A McFit spokesperson said they hope this attractive offer will extend the reach of the brand.
RSG Group’s other brands include Gold's Gym and John Reed. Joint CEOs, Hagen Wingertszahn and Jobst Müller-Trimbusch, will talk about overcoming their toughest challenge in Life Lessons in an upcoming HCM.
