First glimpses revealed of £3m sea view spa coming to Scotland’s West Coast

Family-run Scottish hospitality group SimpsInns has announced plans to launch a new spa at The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride, Scotland, set to open in Q2 2025.
Drawing inspiration from its picturesque waterside location overlooking the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran, SimpsInns intends for the spa to emphasise nature and the great outdoors. Guests will have access to a variety of outdoor wellness facilities, including a large hydro pool, an outdoor shower, a cold bucket shower, a sheltered fire pit and a cozy seating area – all designed to enhance their connection to nature during their spa experience
Inside, the spa will be home to a four-person Rasul experience, a thermal area with a sauna and a steamroom and three experience showers.
The Waterside Hotel's upcoming spa will fall under SimpsInns' existing Si! Spa brand, which was first launched at The Gailes Hotel and Spa.
The treatment menu will feature products from Ishga, a Scottish organic seaweed skincare brand, and ESPA, a UK-based professional skincare and spa line.
Jack Simpson, senior management representative from SimpsInns, said: “Our investment will introduce guests to a new luxury spa experience with an iconic Ayrshire coast backdrop.
“We’re creating the perfect oasis to escape the stresses of everyday life and offer people the opportunity to take back time for themselves to relax, rejuvenate and renew.”
Simpson added: “Our new sea view spa is a really significant milestone, not only for The Waterside Hotel and the wider SimpsInns group, positioning it as one of Scotland’s leading luxury spa and wellness destinations."
Located 40 minutes from Glasgow, the expansion project at The Waterside Hotel is scheduled to begin in Q4. Once completed, SimpsInns anticipates creating 30 new jobs for the local community, including 25 positions in the spa and an additional five in housekeeping.
