Fifth hall added at EAS to accommodate record exhibit sales
The Messe Berlin exhibition centre in Berlin, Germany, will be hosting the Euro Attractions Show (EAS) 2012 between 9-11 October.
EAS - the largest European conference and trade show for the attractions industry - is owned and produced by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). This year, to accommodate the strong demand for exhibit space, EAS officials have opened a fifth hall at Messe Berlin.
After last year's record-breaking EAS 2011 in London, EAS 2012 is also on track to feature a record-breaking exhibit floor.
More than 320 manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants for the attractions industry have signed up for the event and booked 10 per cent more exhibit space compared to the same time last year.
The exhibit floor will showcase innovative products and services in more than 100 categories from over 100 countries, ranging from million Euro roller coasters to stuffed animals, slushy ice, ticketing systems, water rides, 4D theatres and much more.
In addition to the exhibition floor, EAS 2012 will be offering a variety of special events.
The meeting point for exhibitors and attendees will be this year's Opening Reception on Tuesday, 9 October at the Palais am Funkturm, located next to the trade show halls.
More than 1,000 guests will gather at the end of the first day of the show to network and enjoy good food and entertainment.
The CEOs of two of the biggest theme parks in Europe - Europa-Park and Port Aventura - will share their stories about the past, the present and the future, and outline their respective green strategies.
Roland Mack, Managing Partner Europa-Park and Mack Rides and IAAPA chairman of the board, is to be the keynote speaker at this year's annual Leadership Breakfast and will share his family story of developing an amusement park into a world-class, multi-faceted resort.
Fernando Aldecoa from Port Aventura will join the discussion to share his experiences of taking over and growing the largest amusement park in Spain.
Following EAS, attendees can join a three-day tour to visit some of Northern Germany's most popular attractions, notably Heide-Park, including Hotel Port Royal; Hansa-Park on the shores of the Baltic sea; and Hagenbecks Tierpark in Hamburg, the first zoo to use open animal enclosures surrounded by moats.
Additional information on EAS 2012, including a list of exhibiting companies, the conference programme, hotel deals and travel information, is available at www.IAAPA.org/EAS
Registration for the trade show and special events is now open and discounts are available for early registrants.
IAAPA Expo Europe was established in 2005 with the first show in Vienna, Austria and has grown to be the premier meeting point for the leisure industry in Europe. IAAPA Expo Europe is owned and produced by IAAPA, The Global Association for the Attractions Industry.
