Feel Good Factory unveiled at Haslingden Sports Centre
Haslingden Sports Centre in Lancashire has opened a Feel Good Factory boasting £50,000 of toning table equipment.
The new facility was installed for free thanks to a partnership between Alliance Leisure and Shapemaster, and works on an income share basis, where the facility retains the initial income up to a certain level, before a sharing mechanism kicks in.
The Haslingden installation is the second Feel Good Factory in the UK and includes six Easytone chairs and six powertone tables.
Diane Scott, head of operations at Rossendale Leisure Trust, which operates the sports centre, said: "We saw the first installation at Pendle Leisure Trust and how successful it has been.
"We had a room that wasn't generating much income and wanted to offer a new activity for the Rossendale community. It was risk free for us, with no capital outlay, so all in all a win-win situation. The people using the equipment represent a whole new market for us - they're people that wouldn't normally use our facilities, but they are already seeing great results. "
Rossendale Leisure Trust previously worked with Alliance Leisure in 2008 on a £1m revamp of the sports centre.
