FIA set to host funding roadshows

The Fitness Industry Association (FIA) is to host a series of roadshows about how to access funds for facility development and work with local government to improve business.

All delegates at the roadshows will receive the latest Health and Fitness Omnibus Survey (HAFOS), worth £450, which is conducted by Leisure-net Solutions in association with SIBEC.

They will also be entered into a prize draw to win a year’s free membership to the FIA.

Dr Douglas Naysmith, MP for Bristol North West, said: “As a member of the House of Commons Health Select Committee, whose report on obesity influenced the government to introduce a target of getting 70 per cent of the population active by 2020, I am happy to support the FIA’s work to promote government policies through roadshows and local campaigns.

"It is this form of direct contact which enables fitness providers to work with local government to improve people’s health and help develop a healthy nation.”

Advice from representatives from the local council, health authority and sports board will be presented in the morning, followed by an afternoon of interactive workshops, presented by PTE plc and Alliance Leisure.

The roadshows will take place throughout November, starting in Edinburgh on the 16th, Sheffield on the 17th, Bristol on the 22nd and ending in London on the 24th.
