Expansion plans at Punch
Punch Taverns has announced the acquisition for £3.9m of 13 pubs from Western Castle.
Located mainly in the North West, Shropshire and Yorkshire, the pubs are currently operated at managed pubs. Punch will run them as leased pubs upon completion of the deal at the end of April.
Giles Thorley, Punch chief executive said that the acquisition was an indication of the company's desire to seek individual and multiple investment opportunities to enlarge and enhance the quality of our estate.
Elsewhere at Punch, the company has announced the negotiation of a new supply agreement on improved terms with Coors Brewers.
Under the new agreement - which follows recent agreements with Diageo and Interbrew - Coors will supply the Punch estate of 4,517 pubs with the full range of its products for a three year period. These include Carling, Worthington and Grolsch. Details: www.punchtaverns.com
