Exercise registers agree to yearly standards meeting
Registrars of different exercise registers around the world took part in their annual catch-up at the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) Annual International Convention & Trade Show in San Diego recently and have now agreed to incorporate a yearly standards group meeting into their sessions.
The move is part of a drive to bring international recognition between registers allowing fitness professionals to use their qualifications to work around the world.
Currently REPs has reciprocal agreements with Australia and New Zealand but plans are underway for registers in South Africa and Canada. Additionally membership of the UK Register also qualifies instructors for membership of the European Register of Exercise Professionals (EREPS).
