European company unveils plans for London Riverbank Plaza hotel
Park Plaza Hotels Europe has revealed plans for a four-star Riverbank Park Plaza hotel as part of a £300m European development programme.
Scheduled to open in Spring 2005, the Riverbank Park Plaza hotel will be built on the south bank of the river Thames and will have 396 individually designed guest rooms plus 66 suites.
It will be situated directly opposite Tate Britain and offering views of Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, Chelsea embankment and the Houses of Parliament.
The building has been designed by Renton Howard Wood Levin architects –who also created the Saatchi Gallery – and features will include a multi-storied atrium lobby and concept restaurant and bar while the hotel is expected to become an ‘exciting’ new addition to the London skyline.
President of Park Plaza Hotels Europe, Boris Ivesha, said: “Riverbank Park Plaza represents the latest and largest of our development projects but it should not be seen in isolation.
