Edinburgh Leisure appoints John Comiskey as new Chief Executive Officer
The Board of Edinburgh Leisure, the independent charitable trust that manages sports and leisure facilities on behalf of The City of Edinburgh Council, is delighted to announce that after a formal selection process John Comiskey has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect.
John Comiskey, who was Finance Director for Edinburgh Leisure and interim CEO, takes up this permanent role following the resignation earlier this year of Keith Jackson after 12 years at the helm of the organisation.
The appointment also comes three months after the appointment of Dr Charles Winstanley, Chairman of NHS Lothian, to the position of Chair of Edinburgh Leisure.
John Comiskey, CEO of Edinburgh Leisure said, "I am delighted to accept the role as new CEO for Edinburgh Leisure and look forward to leading the organisation to further success in delivering sport and leisure for the people of Edinburgh. Having worked with the committed and hard working staff of this organisation for the last two years, I'm really pleased to be asked to take on this role."
Charles Winstanley, Chair of Edinburgh Leisure said, "These are challenging times for Edinburgh Leisure and the interview panel were of the unanimous view that John is the right person to guide us through them."
