Space Park, a retail and entertainment centre opening in Bremen in early 2004, has selected ETC equipment to control its lighting.

The site includes restaurants, cafés, retail outlets, a 3600-seat multiplex cinema, a space disco Hotel Saturn and a Space Centre, an attraction informing visitors about current developments in space research and showing what training to be an astronaut feels like.

An ETC network comprising more than 450 3kW and 5kW channels of dimming and relays will link all the park’s lighting together, be it retail, walk through experiences, rides or theatres.

Eighteen 4 port DMX nodes controlled by 20 Express and Expression 3 Lighting Playback Controllers will link the dimming system and the intelligent fixtures to the main fibre optics network.

The option of controlling the lighting park-wide or on a local level will also be provided.

Additionally, ETC’s WYSILink package will allow just one person with a pc to get a complete overview of all the maintenance needed, greatly reducing the need for technicians to physically check the whole park. ETC also provides a 24-hour backup service, guaranteeing worldwide technical support.
