DusitD2 to debut in Bali
Global hospitality company Dusit International has signed a management agreement with Indonesian property developers PT Merpati Abadi Sejahtera and PT Ayana Realty to bring its DusitD2 brand to Indonesia for the first time.
Dusit will open two of its DusitD2 hotels in Bali – one at Kuta Beach and another on Sunset Road, both due to complete in 2018.
Exact spa details are not yet fully confirmed, but a company spokesperson told Spa Opportunities that one or both of Dusit’s Devarana and/or Namm brand spas will be used.
Devarana Spa, run by managing director Wipawadee Sirimongkolkasem (interviewed in the latest issue of Spa Business), is inspired by ancient Thai literature and takes its name from a mythical garden in heaven. Classical Thai instruments play while age-old Thai health and beauty practices are combined with modern touches during treatments.
Namm Spa, meanwhile, is named after the Thai word for water and offers the latest in beauty and wellness treatments conducted in contemporary surroundings.
“We are delighted to partner with PT Merpati Abadi Sejahtera and PT Ayana Realty to bring the DusitD2 brand to Indonesia,” said Dusit International chief operating officer Lim Boon Kwee. “Bali is world-renowned for its sandy beaches, lush rice terraces, rolling hills, colourful culture, and vibrant arts scene, and Kuta is the perfect base from which to explore it all.
