Dubai unveils new 'Mini World' attraction
The Dubai Municipality has announced a number of new projects as part of its Expo 2020 bid including a tourist attraction boasting miniature recreations of iconic world landmarks.
'Mini World Park', which was approved By Dubai ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will also feature miniature replicas of Niagra Falls, Mount Rushmore, Rome's Coliseum and many other recognisable locations from around the world.
Dubai Municipality however, did not confirm location, cost or the completion date.
Also unveiled was the Al Mamzar Corniche Beach development. Sitting opposite the currently incomplete Palm Deira artificial archipelago, the development will ad up to 60,000 sq m (645,000sq ft) of new public beaches and I expected to open in the first quarter of next year.
A new AED35m (£6.35m, US$9.5m, €7.3m) snail-shaped Maritime Museum, which will overlook the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary plus a new library, which will be in the shape of a book and act as a new central library for Dubai, have also been announced.
