Drayton Manor launches Ben 10 coaster
Drayton Manor Theme Park has opened its newest attraction - a themed junior coaster supplied by Dutch company Vekoma.
The ride is a smaller variation on Vekoma's boomerang design and has been themed on the popular Ben 10 children's cartoon character.
The design of Ben 10 enables it to have a small footprint (it is located on a 60m x 22.5m plot in the Aerial Park section of the park) while still allowing top speeds of 55kph on a 180m long track which rises to 20.5m.
Guests will also be immersed in the storyline as they enter the main queue line area.
Interactive screens provide information on the show and opportunities to play games while in the queuing area, as Asmuth also speaks to guests on TV monitors.
The design elements of the attraction were carried out by UK based Space Leisure, who also provided the audio effects and the touch screen interactives within the queue line area, while theming specialist Meticulous carried out all the theming work within the queuing area, following Space Leisure's designs.
