Dolder Grand Spa to launch in early April
The Dolder Grand in Zurich, Switzerland, will reopen next month with a new luxury wellness offering following an extensive US$440m (282.4m euro, £216m) renovation.
The 40,000sq ft (3,716sq m) Dolder Grand Spa is located in the hotel’s new spa wing and its design was inspired by a canyon.
The spa has 21 treatment rooms, including 10 with massage areas, one with a steam shower and fireplace and one with hydrotherapy.
There are also separate male and female spas, each covering an area of 1,076sq ft (100sq m), and featuring a sauna, steambath, aroma pool and a Japanese foot bath.
Foster & Partners were responsible for the spa’s architecture with interior design by United Designers. Sylvia Sepielli of SPAd Inc created the spa’s concept.
The spa menu will feature Kerstin Florian, La Prairie and Kenzoki product lines, with signature therapies including a Camomile Scrub.
The original Dolder Grand was built at the end of the 19th century. The hotel has been closed since July 2004 for the renovation.
