Docklands Peak Fitness club sold to Absolution
The Peak Fitness Club in London’s Docklands has been sold to Absolution Gyms as part of the continued disposal of the group, which went into receivership at the beginning of the year.
The 42,000sq ft Dockland’s club, which comprises indoor tennis courts, squash courts and health and fitness facilities, was sold for more than £200,000 as a going concern.
Turnover for the club for the year to March 2003 was £713,000.
James Berk of the Liverpool-based Absolution Gyms said: “We are keen to expand into other areas of the country and this acquisition gives us a great opportunity to gain a foothold in the London market.”
Of the original 15 clubs formerly owned by The Peak Fitness Group, 11 have now been sold as going concerns and the assets of a Newcastle club were disposed of to a local operator.
