Representatives from The Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts have joined officials in Hawaii, US, for the opening of Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa.
Among the facilities at the new resort is the 18,000sq ft (1,672sq m) Laniwai, a Disney Spa, which includes 15 treatment rooms and offers therapies drawing on Hawaiian influences.
The resort's spa is designed to welcome visitors of all ages and features a family suite sited away from the main spa area and offers tailored experiences for children as young as three.
Elsewhere, there is a 1,500sq ft (139sq m) purpose-built facility for teenagers, which is also situated away from the main spa area and includes a treatment room and a relaxation area.
Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa also includes the AMA'AMA beachside restaurant and the buffet-style Makahiki eatery, along with Aunty's Beach House for young children.
The Walt Disney Company president and chief executive officer Bob Iger said: "Aulani is a stunning resort that offers something unique in the vacation industry.
"It's an incredible family paradise that combines the beauty and culture of Hawaii with a touch of Disney magic and we are confident that guests from around the world will continue to enjoy it for many years to come."
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chair Tom Staggs added: "Aulani is just the answer for families who want to experience the incredible storytelling and great guest service of Disney."
