Disney Tokyo attendance figures up on estimates
Tokyo Disney Resort has reported an increase in projected visitor numbers to its Tokyo Disneyland Park and Tokyo DisneySea Park for the financial year 2009-10.
The combined attendance at both sites was 25,818,000, 0.9 per cent - 218,000 people - up on the figure estimated at the beginning of the fiscal year. Although the figure is 94.8 percent of the attendance figure for the previous year, it is the second highest in the resort's history. The company has attributed the better-than-projected attendance to the opening of two new attractions during 2009 - Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! at Tokyo Disneyland and Turtle Talk at Tokyo DisneySea - as well as to the first-ever Halloween event to be held at Tokyo DisneySea Park.
