Digital planetarium launched at Thinktank
The Thinktank science centre in Birmingham, UK, has added a 70-seat domed theatre to its attractions.
The new facility – one of the UK’s first purpose-built digital planetariums – has been designed primarily for corporate events and can be booked separately or alongside the museum’s other events facilities.
Gill Allen, sales manager of Thintank, said: “We are used to hosting major events and with the planetarium we can now offer a unique range of options for the corporate sector.”
The new theatre is part of Thinktank’s ongoing £1.5m expansion programme, which has also seen new installations in Kids City and the Medicine Matters galleries.
Located at the Millennium Point, the museum opened in 2002 and has 10 galleries with exhibits ranging from the world’s oldest working steam engine to the latest developments in robotics, nanotechnology and space exploration. Details: www.thinktank.ac
