Details revealed about Healthcare City development
The Government of Dubai has revealed more details about its new integrated wellness and medical development called Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).
Healthcare City is being created as a centre of excellence for medical services, education and life science research in the Middle East.
The DHCC site will have two main phases. The first will be approximately 4.1million sq ft (0.38 million sq m) in size, located behind Wafi City, Dubai, and include private hospitals, day clinics and a transplant centre.
The second phase will be focused on a Wellness Cluster. Taking a holistic approach to long-term health and wellbeing, the cluster will include a spa and a hotel resort, nutrition centres, a health farm, a sports medicine facility.
The core of DHCC will be its Academic Medical Center, providing medical and educational facilities alongside specialised treatments while also offering both on the job training and research opportunities.
So far, medical centres in the UK, Germany and the US have expressed a preliminary interest in participating in the project, with particular attention directed to the academic and medical centre component.
