Delayed Bath spa now due to open in early August
Following construction delays, the £7.8m Thermae Bath spa will finally be open to the public within the first two weeks of August.
The spa was meant to open in February, but delays to planning and construction have meant that building work will now be completed by the end of July.
It is hoped that the spa will help to boost extended-stay tourism figures for the city.
The naturally-occuring thermal springs of Bath have been out of use since 1978 and the new spa project – a joint venture between the council and the Thermae Bath Spa company – will be situated adjacent to the Roman Baths in the city centre.
The spa will feature both indoor and outdoor bathing courtesy of an open-air rooftop pool, steam and massage rooms and a centre of wellbeing offering a full range of complementary spa treatments. Details: www.bathsspa.co.uk
