Deepak Chopra to open Colorado spa
The Westin Hotel in Colorado, US, is to open 60 luxury residencies and a new Chopra Spa in 2007 as part of a US$40m (£22.6m, 33.3m euro) redevelopment called Ananda.
Located in the city of Westminster, the 17,000sq ft (1,580sq m) Rocky Mountain Chopra Center & Spa will overlook a lake and be connected by tree-lined pedestrian paths to the hotel and the 60 Ananda residencies.
The spa has been masterminded by wellness guru Deepak Chopra and will be the only one of its kind in Colorado, focusing on nurturing a combination of physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
With 16 treatment rooms, an aerobic studio and a private balcony, Chopra Center therapies will blend medicine, psychology, philosophy and Ayurvedic techniques. Workshops and yoga retreats will also be run.
The Ananda luxury residences will range in price, with the most luxurious selling for around US$1m (£560,000, 830,000 euro) while features will include gourmet kitchens, fireplaces and natural stone and wood interiors and underground parking.
Exterior attractions will include water features, open spaces and secluded alcoves, complete with flowerbeds, ornamental trees and trellis vines.
The Westin Hotel opened in April 2000 and is owned by developer Tim O’Byrne. Details: www.myananda.com
