De-stress and relax in Sherwood forest

Centre Parcs has recently opened its health and beauty retreat brand, Aqua Sana, at its Sherwood Forest site as part of an £18m investment.

The £4m, 1,800sq m spa is housed within a Romanesque building with curved walls and pantiled roof, set in one corner of the village and opens out onto a Tyrolean garden and Zen garden.

Spa experiences available include Indian Blossom Steam Room, Turkish Hamman, Roman Laconium and Japanese Salt Steam Bath and are arranged surrounding an open-air sunken pool.

Beauty therapy is available in 16 treatment rooms and includes the Serail Bath, a self-applied mudbath for two as well as a fragrant Slipper Bath and Dry Flotation Room. There is also a hair and nail salon. Guests can relax in front of a log fire or on a covered balcony between spa experiences.

Investment at Sherwood Forest has also included new apartments and villas, refurbishment of indoor sports facilities and children's facilities and an Indian restaurant.

Aqua Sanas are also planned for Elveden Forest - due to re-open in Spring 2003 after a fire earlier this year - and Oasis Whinfell Forest. Details: www.centreparcs.co.uk
