DLL opens flagship Belgium site
David Lloyd Leisure (DLL) has opened its first health and fitness club in Belgium, in one of the most prestigious suburbs of Brussels.
The flagship club opened in early November with 2,700 members following a three-month presales campaign. There is a waiting list extending until the new year and the company said it has had to halt some of its marketing plans because of the overwhelming number of enquiries.
Set in the Viola Cornuta Chateau amid six acres of grounds, the full-service club includes an 8,000sq ft gym, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and swimming pools, a 4,000sq ft spa area, children’s facilities and a restaurant.
This is the latest addition to the Brussels health and fitness market, which already hosts Aspria and Club Med clubs.
DLL is looking for further sites for organic growth in the Benelux region and is due to open another facility in Capelle, Holland, in the next few months.
