Crealy Great Adventure Park in Exeter has announced plans to expand its operations team, with the company set to recruit a head animal keeper to oversee the day-to-day running of the resort’s animal business.

The largest family theme park attraction in the south west, the attraction is home to more than 60 rides and experiences, live shows and the zoo.

The head animal keeper's responsibilities will include oversight of the park’s popular meerkats at Meerkat Manor; ponies, goats, pigs, and donkeys in the Animal Barn; Shetland Ponies, Welsh Ponies, Llamas, Lambs, Alpacas, Wallabies and Emus in Animal Land; and a selection of insects in the Bugz Unlimited attraction.

Crealy says the challenge will suit someone with at least five years' zoo keeping or animal welfare experience, who can lead, support and assist the animal keeping team.

The keeper will also be responsible for ensuring best practice, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
