Coyote Lodge planned for Sandusky
Nebraska, US-based Dial Family Resorts is planning to open a US$84m (69m euro, £48m) waterpark in Sandusky, Ohio, US.
Called Coyote Lodge, the 400,000sq ft (37,000sq m) resort will be centred around a 60,000sq ft (5,600sq m) indoor waterpark which will include nine high-speed slides; a lazy river; a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket; interactive waterfronts with spray guns and fountains; a large hot tub and a 10,000sq ft (930sq m) dry play area.
Other facilities will include a 347-room hotel, a luxury resort spa, a 6,500sq ft (600sq m) arcade with video games and simulators, a one-acre outdoor waterpark, 28,000sq ft (2,600sq m) of convention space and a themed restaurant.
Dial said it will begin construction on the 48-acre (19-hectare) site by summer this year and is planning to open the waterpark in 2008.
Coyote Lodge will be the fourth waterpark in Sandusky, which also hosts the Kalahari, Great Wolf Lodge and Castaway Bay parks. Details: www.dialfamilyresorts.com
