Council unveils new Segway attraction
Visitors to Felixstowe's south seafront will be given the opportunity to try a new mode of transport this summer, after the local authority secured a licence with Suffolk Segways.
Located at the former go-kart racing track next to the town's leisure centre car park, the two-wheel, self-balancing Segways have been made available for public use by Suffolk Coastal District Council (SCDC). The vehicles are not permitted for use on UK public roads and it is hoped that the existing track will provide an ideal location for users to have the chance to test them out.
SCDC head of community and economic services Andy Wright said: "As well as the traditional seaside pastimes of donkey rides and ice creams we are also keen to encourage new attractions that will be equally enjoyable for visitors."
