Council holds leisure facilities consultation
Residents in Rossendale have been given the chance to comment on plans for a new swimming pool at Haslingdon Sports Centre as part of a wider £5.6m investment in local leisure provision.
A new fitness suite, five-a-side football pitches and improvements to a swimming pool at Marl Pits are also proposed under the plans, which have been drawn up by Rossendale Borough Council (RBC) The local authority is working in partnership with Rossendale Leisure Trust (RLT) and consultants Mouchel to move the plans forward, with two drop-in sessions held on 12 and 15 July respectively.
It is hoped that the feedback will enable the plans to be refined further before planning applications for the proposed schemes are submitted for consideration. RBC's Jason Gledhill said: "This is an exciting stage in the project development and we would welcome comments on the proposals from users of our leisure facilities and other residents."
