Coqui Water Park opens
A new waterpark has opened at El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door Spa in Puerto Rica, South America.
Coqui Water Park is part of a US$120m (£61.5m, 82.5m euro) renovation of the holiday resort, which includes 750 newly refurbished guestrooms and suites.
The neighbouring El Yunque Rainforest inspired the 2.4-acre water-based family attraction, which features a 60ft main tower overlooking the Caribbean Sea offering three high-speed water slides: El Gigante Dormido, Huracan and Marohu.
Guests can also enjoy an 8,000sq ft (743sq m) lazy river, 253ft double inner tube slide, 40ft vertical drop and 26ft serpentine flume body slide, as well as waterfalls, rapids and a jungle rope bridge.
Additional facilities include a 25,550sq ft (2,370sq m) sunbathing deck with a 9,000sq ft (836sq m) infinity edge pool, a pool area with a slide for younger visitors, and dining and function areas for events.
