Hilton Worldwide's luxury brand, Conrad Hotels and Resorts, is to open its first resort in South Africa later this year in Knysna - located between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
The global hotel group has signed a management agreement with Alderney Entertainment to take over the running of Pezula Resort and Spa, which is expected to rebrand in November.
Among the resort's current facilities ais the Pezula Spa, which houses nine treatment rooms; a nail bar; a hair studio; a juice bar; a rainforest shower; and a sauna and steamroom.
The spa's post-treatment room features heated massage waterbeds, while a medi-spa facility offers an extensive menu of treatments for a variety of conditions.
Products used in Pezula Spa's signature treatments form part of the Maruwa collection - a range containing ingredients and essences from the Western Cape's indigenous fynbo.
Other facilities include a 12m indoor pool and a gym, while its accommodation includes 78 suites housed in detached villas, five larger family villas and a private castle.
Hilton Worldwide global head for luxury and lifestyle brands John Vanderslice said: "Our arrival in South Africa represents a key milestone in the brand's ongoing global expansion."
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development in Europe and Africa, added: "Conrad Pezula Resort and Spa will be a valuable addition to our growing international hotel portfolio."
