Communal bathhouses and self-care inspire LA's upcoming wellness club, Hume
Los Angeles-based Hume+Projects'>Hume Projects has announced the forthcoming launch of Hume, an urban wellness club and members community designed to simplify and inspire the practice of consistent self-care.
Slated to open in early 2024, Hume is expected to bring together premium health and lifestyle facilities to create a members club concept for those searching for a more balanced routine.
Located in the heart of Venice Beach, the wellness club will blend fitness, spa and hospitality.
Hume is being conceived as an urban retreat that will provide a place to disconnect and awaken the senses through a variety of offerings including fitness classes, nutritional support and recovery therapies.
Featuring custom equipment, natural materials and an abundance of light and fresh air, the club will be rooted in its surroundings with site-specific artwork and installations in collaboration with local creatives.
Drawing inspiration from the slower pace and communal rituals of traditional bathhouses, each element of the property has been carefully considered with a more holistic approach to health, wellness and social connection in mind.
"Hume was conceived in search of a more balanced lifestyle,” explained co-founders Roger Briggs and Sandy Bole.
“We organised our social lives around healthy activities and wanted to create a modern environment to support those habits while fostering a sense of community and connection.
“Pieces of what we desired were scattered throughout the world and enjoyed on special occasions but never readily available for our everyday routines. Through Hume, we've set out to build an intentional space devoid of distractions to unite these rituals."
The 13,500sq ft property will also include an expansive rooftop deck and a lounge space.
Members will be able to enjoy rotating events and bespoke training programmes curated in partnership with leading industry figures.
Membership applications for Hume will open later this quarter.
