Clubs need to work with staff on social media
Health clubs should make sure that all staff members sign a code of conduct regarding the use of social media, according to Christine Thalwitz, director of communications at ACA Fitness & Wellness.
Writing in the latest issue of Health Club Management (click here to visit magazine page), Thalwitz says that staff are an amazing resource and key to the successful adoption of a social media policy.
She said: "Even if your company is not active on social media, your employees probably are. It's therefore critical to set clear guidelines about the organisation's expectations and policies for social media activities."
Thalwitz lists nine key points for clubs to implement as part of a social media strategy, including providing opportunities for staff training on appropriate use of social media and making each staff member signing an acknowledgment and acceptance of a policy.
