Clifton Park accredited by VisitBritain
Clifton Park Museum in Rotherham has joined the London Eye, the Jorvik Centre and Blackpool Tower on VisitBritain’s ‘Quality Assured Visitor Attraction’ list.
VisitBritain was apparently impressed with the museum’s exhibitions regarding the history of Rotherham and described the visitor service, which includes welcoming visitors in person and by phone, publicity material and the gift shop, which offers, among others, educational material and pieces from local artists, as 'very good'.
Principal officer for museums and galleries Steve Blackbourn said: “We really care about our visitors, so I’m very proud of the fact that the museum has officially been recognised for its high standards of visitor services.”
The accreditation was launched nationally in 2001. High profile participants include Historic Royal Palaces, the Imperial War Museums, RSPB, English Heritage and National Trust properties.
