City Inn Westminster opening delayed by flood
Hotel group, City Inn, has delayed the opening of its latest site in Westminster by a month due to flood damage.
A burst pipe in mid-July flooded five floors of the hotel, which required all floors and ceilings to be removed to enable the building to dry out before the damage could be repaired.
City Inn said the hotel is the largest new-build hotel to be constructed in central London for 30 years. With 460 rooms, a lounge bar and a new contemporary restaurant, the group is aiming for the hotel to possess “uncompromising” quality and become “a cool and contemporary environment in which to live, work and relax”.
Managing director, David Orr, said: “We recognised there was an opportunity for new-build accommodation and facilities in superb city centre sites.
“We are very positive about the brand’s growth to date and are confident that City Inn Westminster will be a refreshing and stylish alternative to the capital’s hotels.”
City Inn Westminster will now be open to the public from 3 September. Details: www.cityinn.com
